Students are encouraged to join a wide variety of sporting and recreational clubs and societies which exist at lunchtime and after school. Clubs linked directly to subject areas, such as Art, Computing, Cookery, Technology and Maths, enhance classroom learning and enjoyment but also allow students to explore ideas outside the curriculum. Music and Drama play a major part in the life of the school; as well as engaging and inspiring students during lessons, staff help deliver a variety of extra-curricular activities. These include Choral Society, Orchestra, Junior and Senior Jazz Bands, Drama and Film clubs. Other clubs like Amnesty, Chess, Debating, Film, Japan and Warhammer ensure that all students are able to join and lead groups catering for a range of hobbies and interests.
In addition, there are numerous visits for our students. Educational and recreational visits are available in every year group with a variety of day and residential trips, including subject based trips as well as tours for musical groups and sporting teams. Students are very keen to experience other countries and cultures; something which we believe is a key part of their own development as mature and well-rounded individuals.
Below you will find details of clubs and societies (2012 – 2013) and last year’s visits which may give an indication of visits that will take place this year.
