Rugby report – U13 Bs Vs St Albans

Thanks to Toby Sexton (Philips 8) for providing this report from the U13 Bs excellent result in the end of season game against St Albans –

On Saturday 7th December 2013 we met at school ready to leave for the B’s last game of the season against St Albans a team we had beaten last year.
We lost the toss and St Albans decide to receive, so we had to kick and luckily for us our kicker was feeling confident and this was what he had wanted anyway.
We kicked off and soon won the ball back and played well as team getting the ball to Charlie who scored and early try in the corner. We were now 5-0 up and at the restart we carried on to play well and support each other well, meaning we kept the ball and soon got more tries. The second try was Ore’s which was converted by Harvey, the third was Jacob’s, the forth Matt Jones’ which was converted by Harvey. Jacob then got the fifth with Harvey converting again, kicking to his usual standard. The next try was Mohammed’s, and the seventh was Charlie’s and the last one of the half. Leaving the score as 41-0 at the end of the first half.
At the start of the second half we made some substitutions and also swapped Ore and Harvey with two A-team players.
St Albans started the second half with some spirit though and played hard to get a try which they converted making the score 41-7, but this just made us play harder and we then got back on a roll and scored 5 more tries due to good play as a team.
The last five tries were scored by Mohammed, Jacob, Jacob again, Charlie, and finally Ben.
AGS won 66-7, a good result and one we were all happy with for the last game of the season, as a great team working together to win.
In the season we won 7 of our ten matches a great result and one we were all pleased with.
