Positive Masculinity in Art Workshop with artist Corbin Shaw

What is masculinity to you?

On Friday the AGS Art Department hosted a fantastic Positive Masculinity in Art workshop, for Year 8 students, with Sheffield born artist, Corbin Shaw.

Thought provoking questions about masculinity and what it means to you, prompted meaningful discussions and insights from students and Corbin and how the use of art to express this can be so impactful.

Students enjoyed a bespoke workshop from Corbin, showcasing his creative processes and sharing from where he draws his inspiration to create his strikingly powerful slogan flags.

At the end of the workshop, each student had produced a vibrant and bespoke slogan flag displaying images, and texts of what masculinity means to them.

We were delighted to hear that Corbin intends to sew each students flag together, making a much larger tapestry highlighting the importance of positive masculinity and how its interpretation is different for everyone.
