The Student Committee for Change is committed to shaping the ethos of the School through listening to the views of others and taking action to promote and celebrate diversity, equality and inclusivity. All students can participate in the Student Committee for Change by raising and delivering ideas to promote equity of opportunity. Ideas might include celebrating a calendar of events to raise awareness of different cultural and religious traditions and activities or finding ways to challenge microaggressions and their impact.

The Action Committee for Equality (ACE) is a fortnightly staff working group examining the extent to which the School’s current structures, norms and routines ensure equity of opportunity for students and staff from diverse ethnic backgrounds. It is committed to taking action to ensure all students and staff from diverse ethnic backgrounds feel a sense of belonging at the School through their participation and success within the AGS community.
At AGS, we have a quiet room for prayer and reflection for those of all faiths and none. This is available every day from 2.00 to 2.20pm. For more information, students can speak to their form tutor, Head of Year or Deputy Head Teacher.
