Celebrating Success

Donations to our School are our lifeblood. They enable us meet critical needs and to enrich the learning and teaching at AGS.

We know times continue to be challenging for many families right now.  It is tough for AGS too and so thank you to those who have recently signed up to support us.  The Aylesburian Annual Fund is making a huge impact and so we need your continued participation and support.

Opened in 2016, the ‘Aylesbury Grammar School Science Centre’ crucially improving the facilities for Biology, Physics and Chemistry Laboratories, providing our students with a total of 15 new state-of-the-art Laboratories, together with improved preparation and staff facilities.

An incredible £2.3 million, 7 year project funded by a wide range of initiatives and donations including two capital campaigns, parental, alumni and our first major corporate donation together with significant support from local and national trusts and grants.

We were delighted to welcome Professor Lord Winston, FMedSci FRCOG Hon FRRng Dsc, to open the facility on the 12 December.

Recently, focus had been on raising funds to complete refurbishment of the Art, DT and Engineering department. Our target was to add £150,00 to the £300,00 already received from the John Mason Raven Trust.

The significant donation to the School was raised through building a strong and professional relationship with the Trust over many years and we are extremely grateful to the Trustees for considering AGS as major benefactor for their funds.

Funded by a successful bid to the Capital Improvement Fund.

  • Sixth-form students achieve exceptionally high standards. They study a broad range of academic and vocational subjects. Students have high aspirations. They realise these, with many successfully gaining places at their desired universities. Sixth-form
students also play a crucial part in the running of the school as prefects and senior students. There is an extensive volunteering programme. Students mentor younger pupils and help at local schools.

Funded by a legacy left to the AGS Foundation by Professor William Mead, the new library was positioned at the heart of the School providing an engaging reading, study and learning space for the whole School to use and benefit from.

The Professor was an Old Aylesburian, former Foundation Governor, former Chairman of Governors and a wonderful friend to the School, as well as Emeritus Professor of Geography at University College London.

The Future

There is still a vast amount to do. Our focus for fundraising this academic year is through the Aylesburian Annual Fund is raising much needed funds for the relocation of our Student Support Provision from within the Sixth Form Centre, to a more central location within the heart of the School. The invaluable Aylesburian Annual Fund also supports our important Hardship Fund, available to our students and their families during these financially uncertain and difficult times.

Please support us and do give want you can.

Thank you
