Every donation makes a significant difference and through the generosity of our Aylesbury Grammar School community, we can continue to support our vision as a ‘free school for Aylesbury’ giving every student irrespective of background and circumstance, an opportunity to flourish.
Donations to our School are essential. They are not used to top up our Department of Education budget – they are used to make us the outstanding School we are by improving outdated facilities and making them fit for purpose.
AGS is a registered UK charity (No. 1089244) and there are many ways to support the School by any of the following easy and flexible means.
An ongoing contribution through regular donations will help our School to achieve our vision now and for years to come and will allow the convenience of giving over time.

If you are a UK tax-payer, please remember that Gift Aid allows us to claim the tax back on your donation, meaning that your gift can be worth 25% more to us – at no extra cost to you. Please tick the Gift Aid Declaration on the Donation Form.
Gift Aid can greatly increase the total donation that the School receives, but tax relief can also reduce the net cost of the donation to you.
Donors paying higher rate tax can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax (40 and/or 45%) and the basic 20% rate of tax on the total gross value of the donation. You can make this claim on your Self-Assessment tax return by completing the section on Gift Aid payments. Alternatively, details can be given on form P810 Tax Review.
For example, if you are a 45% rate tax-payer donating £10,000, the School receives £12,500 thanks to the 25% Gift Aid amount. The tax relief you receive reduces the donation ‘cost’ to the donor from £10,000 to £6,875.
Matched Giving is when an organisation matches the amount an employee donates to a charity. For example, if a donor makes a gift of £1,000 to AGS this could be matched by the donor’s employer making the gift worth £2,000 in total at no extra cost to the donor. A number of companies offer a matched giving scheme for charitable donations. Donors should check with their Human Resources or Personnel Department for further information.
Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows a UK tax payer to give regularly to AGS on a tax-free basis. The donation is taken from the employee’s pre-tax salary. Donors should check with their Human Resources or Personnel Department for further information.
