Legacy Giving

Thank you for your interest in the future of AGS.  A gift in your will is one of the most meaningful and enduring gifts you can make and is an indication of your affection for the School.  

For hundreds of years, Aylesbury Grammar School has been a special place to learn.  It is evident from the many paths Old Aylesburians are following that their education provided them with the foundations for a lifetime of success. From musicians to journalists, from architects to consultants, from teachers to sporting professionals, from engineers to politicians and beyond! It is true to say that Old Aylesburians are making their mark, all over the world.

Every Aylesburian has been the beneficiary of the generations that have gone before; every generation has inherited opportunities that are the envy of their predecessors.  All too often, these developments came about after their time at the School –  the entire refurbishment of the AGS Science Centre, a brand new Main School Entrance to better safeguard our students and staff, a refurbished Art, Design & Technology building , remodelled Sixth Form Centre, the Professor William Mead Library, the William Harding Squash Centre, recently refurbished Maths block and staff room. The list goes on.

A successful school such as AGS, is not able to rely on state funding to do this and has to constantly look for alternative funding sources. It continues to be a challenging task.

After protecting the interests of family and friends, some members of our community and friends of the School have chosen to remember AGS with a gift in their will.  Not only does this reflect their support for the School in a unique way which will go on to benefit the future generations of students and sustain the reputation of AGS, but it is also a way of contributing without having any impact upon a donor’s current finances.

Donors also have the added benefit of being assured that any such gift will be managed and applied carefully and prudently by the School’s charitable Foundation.  The Aylesbury Grammar School Foundation (which is regulated by the Charities Commission) is the custodian of most of the School’s third party funding (a role which it is supported by blue chip fund management institutions).
