Bronze Eco-Schools Award – December 2019
Aylesbury Grammar School is an active member of the national Eco-Schools programme. This is a student led programme involving hands-on learning that gets the whole school and the wider community involved in exciting environmental projects.
Upon joining the Eco-Schools community, schools are provided with resources to work towards improving all aspects of the environment both within the school and beyond. There are three levels of accreditation to work towards; Bronze (awarded December 2019), Silver and finally the Green Flag award.
Every tutor group in years 7-12 has a nominated Eco-rep who attends the full committee meetings and actively works to gather together ideas and proposals from students across the school. The best and most viable projects are voted on to progress to the action plan phase and those rubber-stamped by the Headmaster and senior staff can be put into operation.
