There is a fabulous new page on the website of the History of the House System at AGS. Discover when each of the Houses were founded and who they are named after, as well as the two Trophies they compete for. The Brodie Trophy was introduced in 1939 in memory of Mr Palmer Brodie, a popular member of staff who joined AGS in 1935. The Watson Trophy was introduced in 1968 in memory of Colonel F.W. Watson, a long-standing Governor and friend of the school. The page contains all of the Trophy standings since their inception, sadly though there are some gaps. If you happen to know of any results of the years that are missing, please reach out and let us know!
Furthermore, with thanks once again to former Deputy Headteacher CJ Williams, we now have a comprehensive list of former Heads of Houses through the years.
The House system is deeply embedded in the pastoral system at AGS and has provided many opportunities for students to participate in competitions and extra curriculum activities.
