Aylesbury Grammar School PTA

Welcome to the Aylesbury Grammar School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). We’re delighted to have you as part of our school community and invite you to join us in supporting the success and wellbeing of all AGS students.

The PTA plays an important role in bringing together parents, staff and the wider school community. Through fundraising, events and volunteer support, we help provide opportunities and resources that enrich school life and create lasting memories for students and families alike.

How You Can Get Involved

Whether you have a few hours a year or can contribute more regularly, there is a place for everyone within the PTA.

We are a team of parent volunteers who work alongside the school to organise events, raise funds and support the AGS community. We meet monthly, usually online, with one in-person meeting each term, and we are always pleased to welcome new members.

There are many ways to get involved, including:

• Becoming a regular PTA member
• Taking on a specific role such as Communications Officer or Diversity & Inclusion Officer
• Acting as a Class Representative
• Helping with the Second-Hand Uniform Shop (SHU)
• Supporting events on an occasional basis
• Sharing new ideas and skills

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a difference.

What We Do

Throughout the year, we organise a range of popular events and fundraising activities, including:

• Curry & Quiz Night
• Summer Fete
• Winter and Summer Raffles
• The 50:50 Club
• School event bars, including Cabaret evenings
• Welcome events for new families

Our events are a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents, connect with staff, and become more involved in school life.

Why It Matters

The funds raised by the PTA help provide opportunities and resources that school budgets alone cannot always support.

Last year, PTA fundraising contributed towards the purchase of a new school minibus and supported a wide range of clubs and societies that enhance students’ educational experience beyond the classroom.

As new generations of Aylesburians move through the school, fresh ideas and new volunteers are essential to keeping the PTA vibrant, relevant and successful. We would love you to be part of that journey.

Class Rep Network

We encourage each class to have a parent representative who joins a year-group WhatsApp network. Class Reps help share information and keep parents connected.

Our school community is also on Classlist, a GDPR-compliant platform that enables parents to connect with one another and stay informed about PTA activities and events.
